January 2010
Well,its now January 2010 and this is the beging of the journey,im currently still an 'Employee' but not for much longer.New year,new decade.......new life!!
I have so many things going round in my head,from my initial business plan to other ventures and ambitions.
First and foremost is to get my business off the ground,and i have already met some great new people through network site Twitter who have given help and encouragement.I now know a guy who is doing the same as me and starting up his own business,and i'm sure we can help each other along the way.

The begining
Ok,im 34 years old and currently work in the public transport industry which in all essence is your stereo typical dead end job,with no great prospects. To be honest i dont want to progress with my current employer.I just dont want to work for anyone anymore,i want to go out and work hard and earn my own money.
I always felt there something more to life than picking up your wages at the end of the week and paying the bills,with nothing to look forward to apart from next week/months wage packet.
I always felt the urge to get up and make something of myself,break the cycle and become financialy sound................
Well now the time has come.
Im going to start my own business and hopefully become the next big entrepreneur,i recently found my inspiration. Duncan Bannatyne is a fellow Scot from Clydebank and im just a short hop across the river Clyde on the Yoker/Renfrew ferry.
I was in Asda one evening and was browsing the bookshelves. Im not one for reading fiction books and my limit to books is usually Biographies,so i picked up Theo Paphitis' book, had a quick look and put it back,next to it was Duncan Bannatyne's,now i have to say i knew who he was but only having watched Dragons' Den a few times i wasn't overly familiar.I bought the book solely because Duncan is a fellow 'Scot'.
I read it and couldn't believe how much relevance to me there was in this book.His early days as a youngster certainly struck some similarities with my own early beginings and i seemed to think along the same lines as he did. I was not willing to accept that i was destined to go get a job and stumble through life on the breadline.
I left school with next to nothing and set out to see what was available.............pretty much nothing....i settled for a job in a Tyre centre. I then progressed to being accepted for college and started my training to become a car mechanic.i finished the course but quickly became fed up with being dirty and cold all day under a car ramp. I stopped in at the job centre one day on my way home from work one day and noticed an advert for a local bus company who were advertising for trainee drivers,and it was paying about £2 per hour more than i was on at the time. I thought,cold garage or warm bus and more money? I went for the buses.
I then spent the next 13 years driving buses in one form or another,from local buses to private hire.
Now i have finally had enough!
Why? Well......im sick to the back teeth of working hard every day and earning minimum wage! I'm doing the work whilst some one else reap's the rewards.Someone else is buying the nice homes and cars and enjoying their nice holidays! Dont get me wrong i dont grudge them their success but i could be working for myself, earning my own money and not giving someone else the lifestyle i want!
